Il fut le fils aîné du roi Constantin III d'Iméréthie.
Vers 1590, à la mort de Léon Ier d’Iméréthie, il tenta de monter sur le trône, mais il fut chassé par Bagrat IV d'Iméréthie.
Vers 1590, l'année suivante, il déposa Bagrat IV d'Iméréthie.
