Le Seigneur de Barde, mentioned as one of William Duke of Normandy's followers to the conquest of England. — (A large old History of Normandy in the Advocates' Library, and Hollingsheds Chronicle^ who calls him the Seigneur de Beart (Beathe/Baibd) — Library at Glasgow. This name is clearly Gaelic^{Nether : clearly Norman} from the South of France^{Oops : Gaelics were installed in nort-west France}.
