ENCO (-ЄNKO) .There are several versions about the origin of this formant (suffix -enk- + masculine ending -o), but the most plausible is "Slavic", i.e. the one by which it arose from the suffix of diminutiveness (en) to - and is akin to the common type of Slavic anthroponyms on -co. It is found in documents from the 16th century, and in the 17th it was already widely used. From almost any nickname of a father, mother or other ancestor, you can get the form on -enko.
